Our journey at Tips & Whiskers began in 2011, when we started feeding a community cat named Lux. Shortly after, we met Mr. Snow, another tom cat from the same colony. Despite their rough start—frequently fighting whenever they crossed paths—we managed to trap and neuter both of them. Once returned to their colony, they surprisingly learned to coexist peacefully and even began following us home.
About a year later, we discovered Snow with multiple injuries. We attempted to trap him, but he eluded us for days. Eventually, we learned that he belonged to the mechanic down the street, who was heartbroken over Snow's condition. We offered to take Snow to the vet for treatment, explaining that he would need a safe, indoor space to recover. With tears in his eyes, he entrusted Snow to us, knowing he couldn't care for him as needed.
This moment marked the beginning of my deep commitment to community cats. Snow, initially a hissing and spitting tom cat, transformed into the sweetest companion I could have ever imagined. He ignited my passion for Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) and inspired me to pursue a career in the veterinary field. In his honor, countless cats have been rescued and given a second chance. Snow passed away from cancer in June 2023, but his legacy lives on in every kitty we help at Tips & Whiskers.
